Free vs. Paid Video Visits at Ashe County Detention Center: How HomeWAV Works

Ashe County Detention Center uses HomeWAV for video visitation. You can connect using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Visit in person using the on-site kiosks, or connect remotely from wherever you are.

On-site kiosk visits are free. You can use the lobby kiosks on Saturdays and Sundays at no charge.

Each inmate gets two 15-minute HomeWAV visits per weekend through these kiosks. These are not drop-in sessions. You need to schedule ahead of time through HomeWAV.com.

• ✓ Schedule the kiosk visit ahead of time through HomeWAV.com (a family member has to book it).
• ✓ Arrive at Ashe County Detention Center at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time slot.

Remote visits (connecting from home instead of using the on-site kiosks) cost $0.50 per minute. Family members pay this cost.

Remote access runs seven days a week from 7:00 am to 10:30 pm. Keep that window in mind when coordinating schedules.

Those times don't match, so confirm the current kiosk schedule before you travel.
