Payment reminder: Visitation background-check payments must be made electronically. Have your Application Visitor ID ready when you submit payment.

Cómo visitar la instalación
  1. Match your visit type to the posted schedule. General population visits run Saturdays, Sundays, and posted holidays (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.). Cheyenne Unit also lists enhanced evening visit times (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), and registration ends at 2:00 p.m.
  2. Use the ADCRR visitation schedule to confirm the current calendar. ADCRR publishes a Cheyenne Unit visitation calendar entry, which helps you confirm dates before you make the trip.
  3. Plan ahead for non-contact visits. Non-contact visits are on Tuesdays and require an appointment (subject to availability), so you will need to arrange that ahead of time.
  1. Confirm the inmate’s phase level. The phase level determines the length of the visit at Cheyenne Unit, so it affects how you plan your arrival and transportation.
  1. Decide if you need a special visit. Special visits may be approved at other times, but they are not automatic.
  2. Have the inmate submit the request early. The request must be in writing from the inmate and submitted at least 30 days in advance for Deputy Warden approval.

Before you head out, double-check that you're working from the current schedule. For Cheyenne Unit, verify the general population weekend and posted-holiday blocks (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.), enhanced evening visit times (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with registration ending at 2:00 p.m.), and whether Tuesday non-contact appointments are available. ADCRR's visitation schedule includes a Cheyenne Unit calendar entry, which is the best place to cross-check dates.

Plan for timing: Visit length at Cheyenne Unit is determined by the inmate’s phase level. Confirm the phase level before you build your travel plans around a specific visit length.

If you're pursuing a special visit, verify the timeline and expectations upfront. The Deputy Warden can approve special visits at other times, but only after the inmate submits a written request at least 30 days in advance. Since the request has to come from the inmate, make sure you're both working from the same plan.

  • Confirm that electronic payment is still required for the visitation background check.
  • Make sure you have the Application Visitor ID available when you submit payment.
  • Confirm how your payment will be recorded or verified after you submit it.
