Arizona's New Digital Mail System: What Red Rock Families Need to Know
If you write to someone at ASPC-Red Rock, the mailing rules are changing. Starting December 15, 2025, most personal mail will be scanned at a central site and delivered digitally—no more paper letters going directly to the prison.
What Scanned
- ✓ Written correspondence (letters)
- ✓ Greeting cards
- ✓ Drawings
- ✓ Photos
Once your mail reaches the processing center, Securus (ADCRR's partner) says they'll scan it and make it available within 3 business days of receipt. The clock starts when they receive it - not when you drop it in the mailbox.
No tablet? No problem. People without tablets can still access their scanned mail through an electronic kiosk, or the Department will provide printed black-and-white copies.
After your letter, card, photo, or drawing is scanned, the original won't be kept forever. ADCRR's contractor stores originals for 90 days, then professionally disposes of them.
- Decide if you want the original back - if you don’t, you can send your mail normally for scanning.
- Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope - this must be inside your correspondence if you want the physical mail returned after scanning.
Good news: the digital mail system doesn't cost you anything extra. According to ADCRR's FAQ, there's no added fee for you or your incarcerated loved one to send or receive mail under this policy.

ADCRR is giving families time to adjust. From December 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026, if you accidentally send personal mail to the prison instead of the Digital Processing Center, it'll still get processed and delivered. After January 15, 2026, mail sent to the wrong address will be returned to you.
Practical Tips
- ✓ Address it with the inmate’s full first and last name and ADCRR number
- ✓ Send personal mail to the Digital Processing Center (PO Box 211309, Dallas, TX 75211)
- ✓ If you want the original returned after scanning, include a self-addressed stamped envelope
- ✓ Don’t expect items other than letters, greeting cards, drawings, and photos to be scanned
- ✓ Don’t send legal mail, publications, or packages to the Digital Processing Center; those must go to 801 E Jefferson Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034
If your loved one says they haven't received something, give it a few days - Securus aims to have mail scanned within 3 business days of receipt. Still missing after that? Call Securus Customer Service at (800) 844-6591. And don't worry about new fees - ADCRR confirms there's no added cost under the digital policy.
