Reminder: To change an existing appointment (add visitors or cancel), use the “Add Visitor” or “Cancel my visit” options on the Georgia DOC visitation page.
- Start from the Georgia DOC visitation page - This is the same place you use to request a scheduled visit through the Visitation Request Form, and it’s also where the “Add Visitor” and “Cancel my visit” options are listed.
- Find your scheduled visitation in the tool - Use the site’s scheduled-visit lookup so you’re working on the correct appointment.
- Add someone if you need to - Choose “Add Visitor” to find your scheduled visitation and add additional visitors to that scheduled visit.
- Cancel if you can’t attend - Choose “Cancel my visit” to find and cancel your scheduled visitation.
Tip: Before you start, have the details you used when you scheduled the visit (like the offender’s GDC ID and the requestor’s information) so you can pull up the right appointment quickly.
Timing matters - especially for last-minute changes. For weekend visits at Clayton County CI, the cutoff is 5:00 PM on Wednesday of that week. For state holidays, it's 5:00 PM three days before the holiday. Don't wait until the last minute if you need to add visitors or adjust plans around a holiday weekend.
Heads up: If you’re close to the cutoff (Wednesday at 5:00 PM for weekends, or 5:00 PM three days before a state holiday), check your scheduled-visit tool right away - waiting can cost you the slot.
