GA DIAG CLASS PRISON

GDCP (Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison) offers in-person visitation for regular housing, UDS, and SMU units on Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. If your loved one is a diagnostic (assessment) offender, they can't receive visits during their first 60 days. Once eligible, only immediate family (as defined by the department) may visit. Offenders in the TIER III STEP program visit on Wednesdays and Fridays in three scheduled time blocks, and those visits must be arranged in advance. You'll schedule visits through the department's online system (GDConnect), where you can also use the "Add Visitor" and "Cancel my visit" options to manage bookings. Keep the deadlines in mind: weekend requests close at 5:00 PM Wednesday, and state-holiday requests close at 5:00 PM three days before the holiday. Visitation may also be canceled around executions if an order is active.

GA DIAG CLASS PRISON uses third-party vendors for inmate communication: JPay handles video visits and messaging, while Securus handles phone service. JPay charges $3.95 for a 30-minute video visit, with additional fees for e-mail stamps and attachments. Securus lists calls at $0.06 per minute (a 25-minute call comes to $1.50) and lets you set up pre-paid, collect, or direct-bill accounts (1-800-844-6591). If you fund a Securus pre-paid collect account, deposits are capped at $200 per deposit. Calls are limited to 25 minutes, may be monitored or recorded, and can only go to numbers on the offender's Call Allow List. Three-way calling and call forwarding are not allowed. Before sending money to an inmate at GA DIAG CLASS PRISON, make sure you're on the offender's approved visitor list. This is required regardless of payment method.
