Video Visit Rules That Could End Your Call Early at Lawrence Correctional Center

Any nudity on camera will get the visit terminated. Treat the screen like you're sitting in a public visiting room: stay fully dressed, keep things family-friendly, and position yourself so clothing won't shift into awkward territory.

• ✓ Changing clothes while the video visit is running
• ✓ Using the bathroom, showering, or otherwise appearing nude/partly nude on screen
• ✓ Letting the camera point toward someone who is undressed (even briefly)

Only scheduled visitors can appear on screen. If you're calling from a busy household, find a private spot. Even someone walking through the background can put your visit at risk.

Lawrence generally allows one visitor on screen at a time. The exception is children who need assistance sitting for the visit - for example, a parent helping a young child stay in place and engaged.

1. Confirm the right person is scheduled - only the scheduled visitor should be on camera during the visit.
2. Set up the camera for a single seat - frame the shot so it naturally captures one person and doesn’t pick up other household members in the background.
3. If a child needs help, keep support limited to that purpose - the child may be on screen when assistance is needed, but avoid turning it into a multi-person visit.
4. Move anyone else out of view before the call starts - if someone isn’t scheduled, don’t let them appear in the video visit monitor.
