Attorney visits at South Woods State Prison require advance planning. Attorneys or their representatives must notify the incarcerated person's housing facility administrator at least 24 hours before the visit—either in writing or by phone. Your notice needs to include the attorney or representative's name, the incarcerated person's name, the attorney being represented (if applicable), and your requested date and time. Bring appropriate identification when you arrive. Anyone on the Departmental banned list won't be admitted. If a contact visit gets denied for security or operational reasons, the facility should try to offer a non-contact visit instead. Not an attorney? South Woods State Prison participates in the NJDOC Videoconferencing Program. Sessions run Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and should start no later than one hour before closing when possible. To request a session, fax the completed videoconference request form to both the institution and the coordinator at least 48 hours before your requested day (weekends and holidays don't count toward that window). The form asks whether you'll fax documents to the inmate—mark FAX Yes or No. It also includes reason codes; Reason code 25 covers client/attorney interviews.
