Some facilities have moved away from regular in-person visits, but exceptions may be possible. Duchesne County Jail says regular in-person visits have been discontinued and that any in-person visit must be approved by the Jail Captain. They also state that visitation is meant to provide a safe atmosphere while supporting positive goals, and that violating visitation rules can lead to temporary or permanent suspension.

UDC says the quickest way to schedule is by emailing uspscheduleavisit@utah.gov, and it also publishes a USCF phone number (801-522-7046). For visiting application questions, UDC lists uspvisiting@utah.gov. If you are driving to USCF for your visit, UDC also publishes directions from I-80 using the 7200 West exit and continuing to 8000 West.

Some Utah jails state they do not accept incoming calls to inmates. Weber County Jail says incoming calls are not accepted and that inmates use outgoing pre-paid or debit calls, and Cache County Jail says outgoing calls are either collect or pre-paid using purchased phone time. To help your loved one call you, use the vendor account and funding method your facility publishes.

Time limits and headcounts are facility-specific, but Utah jails publish clear examples. Cache County Jail states on-site visits are 20 minutes long and that two free on-site visits are allowed per week. Weber County Jail’s visiting rules state only three visitors per inmate may be allowed into the visiting area at one time, and it also publishes core public visitation hours so you can plan around open days.

Start with the facility’s published ADA contact or visiting office. Weber County Jail publishes an ADA Coordinator contact for Sergeant Anderson, including an email address, a phone number, and a mailing address at the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.

Some facilities allow clergy visits, but they may require proof and specific eligibility. Cache County Jail states clergy must bring proof of clergy to the visit and must be the head of their congregation. If a clergy visit is denied or visitation is suspended at a facility that publishes an appeal process, follow that process (Duchesne County Jail publishes an appeals address to the Jail Commander).

UDC states the new system starts January 5, 2026. Beginning that date, UDC says all personal (non-legal) incoming mail must be sent to UDC mail processing center PO Box addresses for scanning and internal processing, including a PO Box for Utah State Correctional Facility and a PO Box for Central Utah Correctional Facility.

Follow the facility’s suspension and appeal instructions and do not try to work around them. Duchesne County Jail states that breaking visitation rules can result in temporary or permanent suspension of visitation services, and it publishes an appeals address where suspensions can be appealed to the Jail Commander at the jail’s PO Box in Duchesne.
