This information is for families of youth in Lynchburg JDC's Community Placement Program (CPP) and the Re-Entry Program. Both programs share the same visitation schedule: Wednesday evenings from 6:00–7:00 pm and Sunday afternoons from 2:30–3:30 pm. If your child is in CPP or Re-Entry, these are your visit windows. Pay close attention to the program-specific visitor rules below—they differ from what applies to general detention visits.

Lynchburg Detention Center organizes visitation by pod and program. Pods A/B and post-dispositional males visit Tuesday 6:00–7:00 pm and Sunday 1:00–2:00 pm. Pod C and post-dispositional females visit Thursday 6:00–7:00 pm and Sunday 4:00–5:00 pm. Community Placement Program (CPP) and Re-Entry Program visits run Wednesday 6:00–7:00 pm and Sunday 2:30–3:30 pm. CPP and Re-Entry visits allow two visitors per visitation day, though up to four may attend if pre-approved by the Department of Juvenile Justice. You must be a parent or legal guardian, show photo ID, and pass through a metal detector. Leave purses in the car if you're a female visitor, keep children supervised in the lobby, and don't bring outside food or drink. Never give items directly to a child during the visit.
Phone access at Lynchburg Detention Center is limited. Each detainee gets an intake phone call and can make up to three outgoing calls per week. Personal incoming calls aren't allowed, and phone privileges may be restricted based on behavior. Need to arrange a professional visit (other than a Court Service Worker or attorney)? Call ahead to schedule and contact Administration for details. For video visits, tablet messaging, or other vendor-based services, first confirm which vendor the facility uses. Create a friends or family account with the approved provider, complete verification, set up your payment method, and contact the vendor directly for technical or billing questions.
Leer la guía completaLynchburg Detention Center asks families not to send money, clothing, hygiene items, or food. The facility provides detainees' personal care needs. Instead of mailing items, plan to pick up the person's property promptly after release. For eligible city transactions, the City's QuickPayments site offers two options: credit-card payments (fees apply) and eCheck payments (no fees). Parents are listed as financially responsible for emergency medical care and prescription costs. If you need to add funds to an inmate account, Virginia facilities commonly use third-party online portals, lobby kiosks or ATMs, phone deposits, or mailed certified money orders. Options, fees, and posting times vary, so confirm the facility's specific instructions.
