ConnectNetwork / ViaPath Accounts: 180-day inactivity, reminders, and how to get a refund
If you keep money in a phone or messaging account, watch out for inactivity rules. ViaPath Friends & Family accounts can be forfeited after 180 consecutive days without use. ConnectNetwork AdvancePay accounts follow the same rule - 180 days of inactivity, and the balance is subject to forfeiture. Both policies note that governing laws or contracts may set a different time period, so treat 180 days as the default rather than a deadline to push against.
The clock resets any time you use the account. Even a single transaction restarts the 180-day countdown.
Want a heads-up before your account expires? Provide your contact info to ViaPath and opt in to reminder alerts. They'll send a text or email at least 30 days before the scheduled expiration.
Need your money back? You'll have to call customer service - but the number depends on which platform you're using. ViaPath refunds: call 866-516-0115. ConnectNetwork refunds: call 877-650-4249. Before dialing, double-check which company holds your account by looking at your confirmation emails or account details.
