How to Set Up a TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler Account (for Alfred D. Hughes Unit visitors)
Planning to visit someone at the Alfred D. Hughes Unit? You'll need to set up your own TDCJ Online Visitation Scheduler account first. Here's how to register—and how to avoid the common mistakes that trip people up.
You need to create your own account - TDCJ staff can't do it for you. Use an email address you can access right away. You'll need it during setup, and again later if you ever have to reset your password.
Note: Once an account is created for an email address, it can’t be deleted, and the email address can’t be changed later.
Click
Once you click the link in the email, you'll create and confirm a password. Follow the requirements shown on screen exactly - if anything doesn't match, the system won't let you continue.
After your password is set, you'll reach the Background Questionnaire. Plan to finish it in one sitting. Every question is required, and you can't move forward until they're all answered.
Next, fill out your Visitor Profile. Enter everything carefully and double-check for typos - small formatting errors can keep the form from saving, which slows you down when you're ready to schedule.
- ✓ Enter your phone number as XXX XXX XXXX (use spaces, no dashes).
With your profile complete, you'll add the inmate you want to visit. Enter their number exactly as required - this step trips up a lot of people.
Note: The inmate TDCJ or SID number must be exactly 8 digits when you enter it.
- Go to the scheduler login screen - start where you would normally sign in.
- Enter your email address - use the same email tied to your scheduler account.
- Click “Forgot Password/Reset Password” - this starts the reset process.
- Check your email for the reset message - follow the instructions in that email to set a new password.
Thinking about starting over with a new registration? That won't work. Once an account is created for an email address, it can't be deleted, and the email can't be changed. Pick an address you'll keep long-term and can access whenever you need to schedule or reset your password.
