The TDCJ scheduler lists four visit types: Regular, Contact, and Video/Tablet. (Note: Video/Tablet through TDCJ is different from the Securus Video program.) Depending on availability, you may also see options for Extended or Special Visits.
Don't see every visit type? That's not necessarily a glitch. The scheduler only displays options that are allowed based on your relationship to the inmate, how the unit's visitation areas are configured, and the inmate's current visitation privileges. What shows up is tied directly to what's approved for that specific person.
Securus remote video visits are simple: each session lasts 60 minutes, costs $10.00, and inmates can only have one per month.
- Look up your loved one in the TDCJ scheduler - review which visit types are offered for them and what dates/times are open.
- If you can’t schedule online, call the unit - when the “Schedule Visit” button is blank or replaced with “Call Unit,” you’ll need to call the inmate’s unit of assignment to schedule the visit.
