Each 20-minute video visit costs $3.20, paid upfront by the visitor. You'll handle payment through ViaPath (formerly GTL), so have your payment method ready when you schedule.

Start by registering on the Michigan DOC Visitation Scheduling website, which is hosted by ViaPath. Once your account is set up, you'll manage both video and in-person visit appointments from the same dashboard.

You must have an approved MDOC visiting application before you can schedule. Visits booked by unapproved visitors won't be honored. Already approved for in-person visits? You're good - the same approval and CAJ-334 Visitor List cover video visits too.

You can schedule video visits up to 7 days in advance, but no later than 48 hours before the visit time. Don't wait until the last minute - once you're inside that 48-hour window, booking closes.

  1. Log into the ViaPath Visitor Website 10 minutes early - you’re required to be online ahead of the start time so your visit can be verified and approved before it begins.
