Allegan County Jail

Video visits at Allegan County Jail must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance so the inmate has time to confirm. You can visit on-site in the main lobby video room or remotely through an internet account (see gettingout.com for remote accounts). On-site video visitation runs Monday through Friday. Check-in begins at 7:50am, with visits scheduled from 8:00am through the final 4:00pm slot. Each visitor must register, and only two visitors are allowed per station (including children over age 2). Minors must be supervised by an adult at all times. All visits are audio and video recorded. Cell phones are not allowed. If a phone is seen, your visit may be terminated. Commissary deposits go through the separate visitation-lobby kiosk, not the visit kiosk.

Allegan County Jail relies on the Telmate/GettingOut platform for inmate communication, covering phone, video, and tablet services. If you need help with scheduling or your account, call the vendor's customer-care line at 1-866-516-0115. Telmate's Terms of Use say the services are intended for people over 18. Telmate also disclosed a data breach in August 2020 that exposed personal information for thousands of users. Check vendor notices for details and follow any recommended precautions. Like most Michigan facilities, Allegan County provides phone, video, tablet messaging, and electronic mail through third-party vendors. Non-legal calls and video are routinely recorded and monitored. To get started, create a vendor account, request approval as an authorized contact, then schedule visits or set up a prepaid or receiving phone account through the vendor portal.

Allegan County Jail no longer accepts money handed to Sheriff's Office staff for inmate accounts. You'll need to use the county-referenced online options and third-party vendors instead. The county payments page directs you to online services that let you add funds to an inmate's telephone and visitation account, send messages, share photos, and schedule video visits. Deposits and related account services are handled through GettingOut/Telmate (processed by TouchPay Holdings, LLC d/b/a GTL Financial Services).
