How to Schedule an In-Person Visit at Allegheny County Jail (Online and by Phone)

Before booking a time, confirm you're already a registered, approved visitor. Allegheny County Jail only lets you schedule if you've completed the registration process and been added to the incarcerated person's visiting list.

Still need to register? You have two options. Call 412-350-2413, 412-350-2035, or 412-350-2036 between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. Or register in person at the jail during those same hours.

All social visits must be scheduled at least 48 hours (two days) ahead. Have a specific day in mind? Book early. Waiting until the last minute often means fewer time slots to choose from.

Once approved, the standard way to schedule is through the Inmate Visitation Scheduling website. This works well if you want to pick your own time and the site loads without issues.

Prefer to talk to someone? Call 855-208-7349 to schedule by phone. This is also your best bet if the online system isn't cooperating, or if you want real-time confirmation of available slots.

One exception: if the person you're visiting is housed in pods 1C or 4A (COVID-19 isolation pods), you must call the morning of your assigned visitation day to schedule. You cannot book these visits online in advance.

1. Confirm the housing pod - Ask your loved one (or check with the jail) whether they are currently housed in pod 1C or 4A.
2. Call the morning of the visit day - On the assigned visitation day, call 855-208-7349 that morning to schedule the visit instead of using the online scheduler.
3. Lock in the details before you go - While you are on the phone, confirm your visit time and make sure you understand when and where to check in.
