How to Schedule a Visit at Allegheny County Jail (Online or by Phone)

All social visits at Allegheny County Jail must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Try to book the day before or same day? You'll be outside the minimum notice window and won't get a slot.

Before scheduling, you need to be registered as an approved visitor. Timing matters here: approval must come at least two days before your in-person visit, which lines up with the 48-hour scheduling rule. If you're not approved yet, handle registration first - then book your visit.

Once you're an approved visitor, you can schedule two ways: online through the jail's Inmate Visitation Scheduling website, or by phone at 855-208-7349. Prefer talking to a person? The phone line is often the easiest way to lock in a time without dealing with website logins.

If you need to be placed on visiting lists for more than one incarcerated person, you’ll need to make a specific request. Contact Chief Deputy Warden Lee Estock at 412-350-2027 to ask about being added to multiple inmates’ visiting lists.

Online scheduling doesn't work for every housing unit. For pods 1C and 4A, visitors must call the morning of their assigned visitation day to book - no advance online scheduling. If your person is housed in one of those pods, plan on making that call the same day you want to visit.

1. Call to confirm before you head out - Prior to arrival, call 412-350-2035 or 412-350-2036 to make sure your visit hasn’t been canceled.
2. Check in early at the visit lobby - You need to be checked in at least 15 minutes before your visit time.
