Scheduling Your Visit at Allendale: How to Use the GTL Scheduler

Allendale requires all visits to be scheduled through the GTL scheduler (the SCDC GTL VisitMe portal). Show up without a reservation and you'll likely be turned away. One more thing: only visitors already on the inmate's approved list can book a slot. Make sure your approval is confirmed before you spend time trying to schedule.

Plan ahead - visits must be scheduled at least 15 hours in advance through the GTL scheduler. Trying to book late the night before or same-day? The system won't allow it, even if open slots appear.

In-person visits at Allendale happen only on Saturdays and Sundays. There are three two-hour sessions: 8:00–10:00, 11:00–1:00, and 2:00–4:00. Each visit maxes out at two hours, so when you reserve a session, that's your full visit window for the day.

  • ✓ Schedule your visit at least 15 hours ahead of time.
  • ✓ Choose one of the three two-hour sessions (8–10, 11–1, or 2–4).

Sessions fill up. Allendale caps each time slot at 16 visits, so popular weekend slots can disappear fast - even if you're approved and booking within the right window.

  • ✓ Try to book as soon as you can (remember the 15-hour minimum lead time).
  • ✓ If your first-choice session is full, check the other two-hour blocks the same weekend.
  • ✓ Be flexible between Saturday and Sunday if you’re running into the 16-visit session cap.

Build your day around the session you booked. Visits are capped at two hours and run in fixed blocks, so arriving late eats into your time together. Be ready to check in right at your scheduled start to get the most out of your visit.

  • ✓ Keep your group size to four visitors total for the session, and make sure at least one visitor is an adult.
  • ✓ For kids age 10 and older: bring a government-issued photo ID.
  • ✓ For kids age 9 and younger: bring a certified long-form birth certificate.

Timing tip: Arrive no more than 30 minutes before your scheduled visitation time.
