Putting Money on an Inmate Account at Anderson County Jail: Your Two Options
If you need to add money to someone's account at Anderson County Jail, there are two authorized ways to do it. Here's how each one works, plus a weekly cutoff you should know about for commissary orders.
The first option is depositing funds online through www.jailatm.com. You can use a computer, tablet, or phone. Just follow the prompts to place money on the inmate's account.
Prefer to handle it in person? There's an ATM in the jail lobby where you can deposit money directly onto an inmate's account.
- ✓ Cash
- ✓ Debit cards
- ✓ Credit cards
Warning: Sheriff's Office personnel will not accept cash, money orders, cashier's checks, or any other form of currency in person or through the mail for inmate accounts. The ATM and www.jailatm.com are your only options.
To have funds count for that week’s commissary order, the money must be deposited by noon on Monday.
Want to send a care package? Those are also handled through www.jailatm.com. If you're looking to send something beyond regular commissary items, this is the process the jail directs families and friends to use.
Note: Use the JailATM care-package ordering process rather than trying to arrange a package on your own. This is the only method the jail provides for shipping care packages to inmates.
- Start at www.jailatm.com: Confirm you’re using the correct, facility-designated site for deposits and care-package orders.
- Double-check what you’ll pay with: If you’re depositing at the lobby ATM, it accepts cash, debit cards, and credit cards. If you’re depositing online, review the payment options shown during checkout.
- Review totals before you submit: Look over the final screen for any processing charges shown by the vendor, then complete the transaction using the method that works best for you.
If you want the inmate to be able to shop that week, don't wait until Monday afternoon. Get the deposit in before the noon Monday cutoff so the funds are ready for that week's commissary order.
