How to Find Out Where Someone Is: Using North Carolina’s Offender Locator

Looking for someone in North Carolina's state prison system? Start with the official Offender Public Information Search / Offender Locator. You can search by name or offender ID, and results include current location information for state prison offenders - including those housed at Anson Correctional Facility.

Getting no results? The NCDAC Offender Public Information database only covers state prisons - it doesn't include county jails. If someone was recently arrested, they might still be held locally and won't appear in the Offender Locator yet, even if they're eventually transferred to a facility like Anson Correctional.

How to Find Out Where Someone Is: Using North Carolina’s Offender Locator
  1. Get a copy of the expungement order - you’ll need the official order to request removal.
  2. Email the Combined Records office - if the conviction resulted in prison incarceration, email your request and attach a copy of the expungement order to CombinedRecordsSupv@dac.nc.gov.

Note: You can only request removal if the conviction led to prison incarceration and you have an official expungement order.
