To get on someone's approved visiting list at Arrowhead Correctional Center, you'll need to complete a Visitor Application. Your application won't be considered complete without a copy of a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. One detail that trips people up: the address on your ID must match the address you write on the application. If they don't match, your application may be denied.

You have two options for submitting your application. By mail, send it to Canon Minimum Centers, Attn: Warden, PO Box 300, Canon City, CO 81215. Or email it to DOC_ecc-visiting@state.co.us with "Attn: Warden" in the subject line.

Before you send anything, double-check that your ID and paperwork match. Arrowhead requires a copy of a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID with your Visitor Application. The address on that ID needs to match what you list on the application.

Bringing a child? Anyone under 18 must be named on the guardian's Visitor Application. The good news: minor children don't count toward the limit of twelve (12) approved visitors. When listing a minor, include supporting paperwork - typically a copy of the child's birth certificate, or an adoption or guardianship order if applicable.

If someone other than the parent or legal guardian will bring the minor to visit, the parent must complete Form 300-01F (Authorization for Minor Child Visitation). Submit that form according to the facility's visiting instructions so staff can verify the adult bringing the child is authorized.

Once you're approved and considered an active visitor, Arrowhead runs an automatic background check once per year. This is part of staying eligible for visits over time.

Your approval doesn't last forever if you stop visiting. Go a full year without a visit, and you'll be automatically deactivated from the incarcerated person's visiting list. You'll need to reapply to restore your privileges.

Special visits are designed for people who don't visit often or who are traveling a long distance. If that describes you, consider requesting a special visit instead of relying on standard visiting options.

To request one, complete a Special Visitation Application and submit it to the location the facility specifies. For follow-up questions or additional information, use the same Canon Minimum Centers Warden contacts: mail to Canon Minimum Centers, Attn: Warden, PO Box 300, Canon City, CO 81215, or email DOC_ecc-visiting@state.co.us (Attn: Warden).
