How to Request Spiritual Support for Someone in Ashe County Detention Center

The Chaplain Program at Ashe County Detention Center provides counseling on request. Volunteer chaplains meet with inmates, but detention center staff and administration can also ask for support. As a family member, you're essentially asking the jail to connect your loved one with on-site spiritual care.

Not every faith tradition has a local volunteer available. To bridge that gap, the chaplain's room has a HomeWAV video visitation link so inmates can connect remotely with clergy or religious leaders who aren't represented locally. If your loved one wants a specific spiritual leader or tradition, mention that when you reach out - the chaplain can determine whether an in-person visit or remote connection works best.

Chaplains also support detention center staff during crises or emotionally heavy situations.
