Attica's regular visitation runs on weekends, but not everyone can visit every weekend. Your visiting weekend depends on the first letter of your loved one's last name—A–K or L–Z. Check the official calendar before you go to avoid a wasted trip.

Attica splits weekend visitation by letter groups based on the incarcerated person's last name. Each weekend is marked as either A–K or L–Z on the calendar. Find the first letter of your loved one's last name, then match it to the correct weekend.

You'll find the official A–K / L–Z calendar in Attica's visitation schedule document (the PDF schedule for the year). Holidays show up in red on that calendar. Before planning a long drive, check for any red dates on your target weekend and adjust accordingly.

Weekend visiting hours at Attica run from 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM. Plan your travel around that window.

Even though visits run until 3:00 PM, there's a hard arrival cutoff at 2:00 PM. Show up after that and you'll be turned away. If you're cutting it close, aim earlier.

Attica allows a maximum of three visitors per visit, plus one child under age five (who must sit on an adult's lap). The facility also permits up to two split visits in a day - helpful if different family members want to visit but can't come at the same time.

Note: If your loved one is in Special Housing Unit (SHU) custody, visitation works differently: they’re allowed one non-legal visit within a seven-day period during SHU visiting hours (9:30 AM to 2:30 PM), with a latest arrival time of 1:30 PM.
