Items for Infants

  • Up to four diapers
  • Two jars of vacuum-sealed baby food
  • Two plastic bottles of milk or juice
  • One change of clothing
  • One baby blanket (maximum width and length not to exceed 48 inches)
  • One clear plastic bag of baby wipes

Note: Stick to the allowed quantities and have baby items ready for inspection. Everything you bring is subject to search.

If your baby needs medication during the visit, only life-saving or life-sustaining prescribed medication is allowed. The facility gives examples like nitroglycerine pills, inhalers, and oxygen. Bring just enough for the length of the visit. When you arrive, tell the staff at the visiting desk that you have medication so they can handle it properly during check-in.

Reminder: Declare life-saving/life-sustaining prescribed medication at the visiting desk, and carry only what you’ll need for the visit.

Expect screening when you arrive. All visitors - including minors - go through metal detectors and ion scanning. K-9s may also be used, even in the visiting room. Refusing a search at any point means you won't be allowed in. Your visit can also be ended if you refuse a search or if staff find contraband or prohibited items on you or in your belongings.

  1. Register with staff - You must register before you can enter the visiting area.
  2. Show photo ID (adults 18+) - Bring a valid driver’s license or state photo ID from your state of residence, an active-duty military photo ID, or a passport. You’ll need to show it each time you visit.

Tip: Pack only the infant items that are specifically allowed, keep them together for easy inspection, and have your ID ready. Bringing prescribed life-saving medication? Declare it at the visiting desk and carry only what you need for the visit.
