Adding or Canceling Visitors at Bacon Probation Detention: What to Do When Plans Change

Use the GDC Add Visitor option when you already have a visit scheduled at Bacon Probation Detention and need to include another person on that same appointment. This is the right tool when plans change and someone else wants to come along - the visit already exists, you're just updating who will attend.

Before adding someone, make sure they're already an approved visitor. GDC's approval process starts with the Visitation Request Form - the person who wants to visit fills it out and submits it to the facility where your loved one is incarcerated.

Visits at Bacon Probation Detention start with a request. You submit one through GDC's Request a visit form, and once approved, the appointment shows up in your GDC visitation account. That's the appointment you'll pull up later if you need to add another visitor.

1. Open the GDC visitation tools and choose “Add Visitor” - this option is specifically for updating an existing scheduled visit.
2. Find your scheduled visitation appointment - use the Add Visitor flow to locate the visit you already have on the calendar.
3. Select the correct appointment - double-check you’re editing the right date/time.
4. Use “Add Visitor” to enter the additional visitor - follow the prompts to add the person to that scheduled visit.
5. Confirm the update - complete the process so the added visitor is attached to the appointment.

Can't make your scheduled visit at Bacon Probation Detention? Use GDC's Cancel my visit option. It lets you find your appointment and cancel it through the same visitation system.

1. Cancel as soon as you know you can’t attend - don’t wait until the last minute if your plans are set.
2. Open the GDC “Cancel my visit” tool - use it to locate your scheduled appointment.
3. Select your appointment and follow the prompts to cancel - complete the cancellation steps shown on screen.
4. Keep proof of cancellation - save a screenshot or confirmation message for your records.

If Add Visitor or Cancel my visit isn't working, or you can't find your appointment, try again later - sometimes the system is just finicky. Either way, save copies of any confirmations you receive (screenshots work great), especially when making changes close to the visit date.

• ✓ For weekend visits, the cutoff time to request visitation is 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the same week.
• ✓ For state holidays, the cutoff time is 5:00 PM three days before each holiday.
