How to Set Up Video Visits with Bay County Jail (GettingOut / Via Path)

Bay County Jail runs video visits through Via Path Technologies' GettingOut system. You can use either the GettingOut website or their mobile app - whichever works better for you.

1. Go to GettingOut and start a new account - Use the GettingOut website or the mobile app and choose the option to create an account.
2. Enter your information and upload your ID - During signup, you’ll need to upload a picture of your driver’s license (you can also add a profile picture).
3. Complete the email verification within 24 hours - GettingOut sends a verification email within 24 hours, and you must finish that step to move forward.
4. Confirm your phone number - You’ll also receive a phone or text verification to make sure your number is correct.

• ✓ An email address you can access (you’ll need it for verification within 24 hours)
• ✓ A phone number that can receive a call or text for verification

One thing to check before you start: if you've been incarcerated at Bay County Jail within the past 90 days, you won't be eligible to schedule a visit.

1. Sign into your GettingOut account - Use the same account you just verified.
2. Select the incarcerated person from your contacts - Choose the person you want to visit.
3. Choose “Schedule a Remote Visit” - This is the option used for video visits.
4. Pick a date and part of day - Select the date, then choose morning, afternoon, or evening.
5. Select an available time slot and confirm - The available times will show for that part of day; pick your slot and confirm your visit.

Video visits at Bay County Jail cost $0.25 per minute. You can fund your GettingOut account with a credit or debit card. Alternatively, if the person you're visiting has funds available, they can cover the cost from their end.

When your visit time arrives, log back into GettingOut on the website or app and open your scheduled visit to start. Can't find the person you want to visit? Not seeing the "Schedule a Remote Visit" option? Double-check that you're signed into the correct account and that you selected the right contact.

Don't do a video visit while driving. If you're in a vehicle, you need to be safely parked - the visit can be terminated if you're behind the wheel.
