What Happened to Your Letter? Bay County Jail’s digital mail scanning and new address
If your letter or photos aren't arriving the way you expected, here's why: Bay County Jail now scans all incoming mail digitally. This change also means there's a new mailing address you need to use.
A third-party service in Phoenix, Maryland handles all incoming personal mail for Bay County Jail. Your letter or photo gets scanned and converted to a digital copy before the inmate ever sees it.
The mailing address changed too. Since November 16, 2022, all personal correspondence needs to go to: 5700 Star Lane, Panama City, Florida 32405.
Your mail doesn't go straight to the inmate after scanning. Staff review and approve the content first, then release it for reading.
Once approved, inmates receive your correspondence digitally - either on a kiosk or tablets in their dorm. Even if you mailed a handwritten letter, what they see is the scanned version.
Warning: Original photographs are discarded after they’re scanned into the kiosk system. Don’t mail anything you can’t afford to lose.

Want to add money to their account? You can mail money orders to the facility, and the funds will be credited to the inmate's account.
