How to Schedule Your First Visit at Baylor Women's Correctional Institution (BWCI)
Scheduling your first visit at BWCI is simple — you just need to call one number during a narrow window.
Face-to-face visits at Baylor Women's Correctional Institution (BWCI) must be scheduled by phone. Call (302) 577-5837 to book your slot.
The scheduling line has limited hours: Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Call outside that window and you won't reach anyone.
You're booking for the following week, not the same day. When you call, be flexible - you'll choose from whatever openings remain across Monday through Sunday.
Ready for Call
- ✓ The incarcerated person’s full name (and any identifying info you have handy)
- ✓ Your full name, exactly as it appears on your ID
- ✓ A couple of preferred days/times so you can take the first available slot
- ✓ A pen and paper (or notes app) to write down the date/time you’re given and any instructions you’re told on the call
Traveling 100 miles or more? You can request a two-hour visit once per month. This requires a written request sent to the Warden's Office - it's not something you can arrange over the phone.
- Schedule your regular visit by phone - Call (302) 577-5837 during the scheduling line hours (Monday–Wednesday, 9:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M.) to get on the calendar.
- Send your written request for the longer visit - If you qualify (100+ miles traveled), write to the Warden’s Office to request the two-hour visit once per month.
Reminder: Bring picture ID for check-in. If you’re bringing a visitor under 16, any picture ID is acceptable for them.
- ✓ Call during the scheduling hours only: Monday–Wednesday, 9:00 A.M.–3:00 P.M.
- ✓ If the line is busy, keep trying - call-backs within the scheduling window usually work best
- ✓ Write down the date/time you’re assigned before you hang up
- ✓ Plan ahead for check-in: every visitor will need picture ID when you arrive
