BWCI is strict about what you can carry inside. Show up with extra items and you'll be walking them back to your car—so pack light.

Bring two things: a photo ID and your car keys. That's it. BWCI limits visitors to identification and car keys only - everything else stays locked in your vehicle. Leave the extras behind and you won't get turned away at the lobby.

Note: If your visitor is under 16, any picture ID is acceptable.

You can carry up to $5.00 in cash. Stick to small bills - it covers minor needs without weighing you down with extra cash you can't bring inside anyway.

Want to add money to an inmate's account? There's a kiosk in the lobby for that. Bring cash and make your deposit there - no need to hand anything directly to the person you're visiting.

Heads up: Money orders are not accepted at the time of visit (effective August 5, 2013).

You can buy a debit (vending) card in the lobby and use it at the vending machines during your visit. Sharing approved snacks with the inmate is allowed. Bring only what you need for the card purchase - traveling light keeps check-in smooth.

Reminder: You can’t exchange property with an inmate during a visit. Cards, letters, and similar items have to be sent through the mail instead of handed over.
