Visitation

Prepare for Your First Visit to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center

Before your first visit to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, check three things: that you are on the inmate’s Visitation Form, what day and time the inmate is assigned, and that you have valid photo identification. Adult visitors must be listed on the form to be permitted to visit.

Prepare for Your First Visit to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center

To visit as an adult, you must be listed on the inmate’s Visitation Form. The inmate receives this form when assigned a cell.

Children under 18 do not need to be on the approved visitation list themselves. They must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is on the approved list.

Check with the inmate for your assigned visit day and time. Visit times depend on the inmate’s cell assignment. Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center is at 1455 Bravo Boulevard, Minden, LA 71055.

Requests for exceptions or special arrangements must go through a Corrections Officer to a Shift Supervisor for approval. A Shift Supervisor may extend a visit because of distance traveled, infrequent past visits or another reason.

You need current, valid photo identification, such as a driver’s license, to visit. On your first visit you must also complete a Visitor Information Form. You will then be checked for outstanding warrants.

For visitation questions, call (318) 371-9199. Before you travel, confirm your visit arrangements with the facility.
