Before You Go: ID and Dress Code for In-Person and Video Visits at Michigan Prisons
A little prep can save you a wasted trip. Here's what you need to know about acceptable ID and dress code for both in-person and video visits at Michigan prisons.
How to send messages, photos, and packages
Communication at Bellamy Creek Corrections Facility runs through third-party vendors. Phone calls are available as collect, prepaid collect (AdvancePay®), or debit. You can set up AdvancePay at web.connectnetwork.com or by phone with the vendor, then add funds using the vendor's instructions. Videophone calls are limited to 30 minutes and currently free. Michigan DOC distinguishes Videophones (primarily for deaf or hard-of-hearing incarcerated people) from standard video visitation. Videophones are initiated by the incarcerated person through the vendor app with matching account details. To schedule in-person or video visits, register on the Michigan DOC Visitation Scheduling site (ViaPath) and get your visiting application approved first. Keep in mind that non-legal calls and video visits may be monitored or recorded.
Search for a loved one and send messages and photos in minutes.
Create an AdvancePay account at https://web.connectnetwork.com/ or enroll by phone through the vendor's AdvancePay line. Once your account is set up, add funds following the vendor's instructions so the incarcerated person can place prepaid collect calls.
Yes. Videophone calls are limited to 30 minutes, and there is currently no charge for the service.
Register as a visitor on the Michigan DOC Visitation Scheduling website (hosted by ViaPath) and complete the approval process. You can't schedule an in-person or video visit until your visiting application is approved in the portal.
