Planning a Weekend Visit at Bent County: Friday–Sunday Hours, Arrival Cutoffs, and the No‑Reentry Rule

Bent County Correctional Facility (BCCF) offers in-person visits on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hours run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. on each of those days. Build your travel time and check-in plan around that window - not just "sometime in the afternoon."

Holidays don’t create extra visiting days and they don’t change the schedule - BCCF still follows the Friday–Sunday visiting setup. If you’re traveling from out of town, plan as if it’s a normal weekend visit and don’t assume a holiday Monday will be an option.

Visiting hours start at 10:00 a.m., but BCCF begins processing visitors at 9:30 a.m. This matters because check-in determines whether you actually get into the visiting room during the 10:00 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. window. Show up too close to the start - or near the end of the day - and you risk being turned away simply because processing took too long.

  • Arrive early enough to be ready when processing starts at 9:30 a.m.
  • Treat 10:00 a.m. as “visiting begins,” not “that’s when I should pull into the parking lot.”
  • When your visit is approved/confirmed, double-check any arrival deadline you’re expected to meet so you don’t lose the day because of timing.

No re-entry: If you leave the facility during your visit, you will not be allowed back in.

  • Use the restroom before you go inside so you’re not forced to choose between leaving early or being uncomfortable.
  • Bring as little as possible so you’re not dealing with extra items you can’t take in.
  • Plan food and drinks around the visit window so you’re not tempted to step out mid-visit.
  • If you’re traveling with family, decide ahead of time who will handle any outside emergencies (calls, car issues, childcare needs) so you don’t have to leave and lose your spot.

Late arrivals are one of the most common reasons people lose a visit. Processing starts at 9:30 a.m., and visiting only runs until 3:50 p.m. - show up too late and you won't be admitted. Your safest move: confirm any arrival cutoff tied to your approved visit, then plan to arrive well before you think you need to.

Trip Checklist

  • A valid picture ID for every approved visitor age 18 or older
  • Any visit approval/confirmation details you were given, so you can match the facility’s expectations for that day
  • A plan to arrive early enough for processing (which begins at 9:30 a.m.)
  • Minimal personal belongings, since leaving to store something can cost you the visit
  • A “no re-entry” plan: bathroom break handled beforehand, meals planned around the visit, and someone designated to handle outside issues if needed
  • Your travel timing built around the actual visiting hours: Friday–Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.

Quick reminder: Holidays don’t change Bent County’s Friday–Sunday visiting schedule - and once you leave, you can’t re-enter - so plan your driving, breaks, and errands around one continuous visit.
