Hill-Finklea Detention Center gives you three ways to put money on an inmate's canteen account. You can deposit online through McDaniel Supply Company, mail a money order made out to the inmate, or add funds in person at the lobby kiosk. Which one works best depends on how quickly you need the funds available and what's most convenient for you.

You can mail a money order in any denomination, made out to the inmate. Send it directly to the inmate so they can deposit it into their canteen account. Follow the detention center's required mail format when you send it. Mail that doesn't match the facility's formatting guidelines can delay processing or prevent the money order from being credited.

Tip: Follow the detention center's mail format exactly. Proper formatting helps your money order get routed and credited to the right account.

You can also deposit funds in person. Hill-Finklea Detention Center has a kiosk in the front main lobby for adding money to an inmate's canteen account.

The kiosk accepts cash or credit card. Keep in mind there's a processing fee, so the total cost will be slightly more than the deposit amount.

  • Monday through Sunday: 8am to 10am
  • Monday through Sunday: 6pm to 8pm
  • Also available during inmate visitation hours

Note: The kiosk has set daily hours and charges a processing fee. Plan your trip around the listed kiosk hours (or during inmate visitation hours) if timing matters.

If you'd rather handle everything from home, you can deposit funds directly into an inmate's account online through McDaniel Supply Company. Once the transaction goes through, the inmate gets immediate access to the money. This online deposit option is provided solely by McDaniel Supply Company. Hill-Finklea Detention Center does not control or monitor the service.

  • Inmate’s name
  • Inmate’s location
  • Inmate’s ID number
  • You must get this information from the inmate, the detention center will not provide it

Important: Online deposits give the inmate immediate access once the transaction completes, but you'll need the inmate's name, location, and ID number to submit the deposit.

If speed matters most, online deposits through McDaniel Supply Company give the inmate immediate access once the transaction completes. Mailing a money order works well if you prefer a paper method and don't mind the mailing time. The lobby kiosk is convenient if you're already heading to the facility, though it does charge a processing fee.

Note: McDaniel Supply Company runs the online deposit service. Hill-Finklea Detention Center does not control or monitor it.
