Visitation

All in-person visits at Berks County Jail must be scheduled by phone. Call (610) 208-4800, choose option 3, and speak with a receptionist Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:00pm. No voicemails, no same-day appointments—book by 3:00pm the day before, up to three weeks in advance. Each inmate gets four in-person visits per calendar month. Visits last 30 minutes and allow up to three visitors. You must be on the inmate's approved visitation list and meet ID and age requirements. Minors need to be accompanied by a qualifying parent or guardian. Arrive no more than 15 minutes early and park in a numbered visitor space on level 1. Don't leave children unattended. Visits may be suspended for quarantine or other reasons.

Funds can go toward the inmate's Commissary (Trust Fund) account or the Inmate Telephone (AdvancePay) account (AdvancePay requires setup with the telephone company). Single deposits max out at $300, and 50% of incoming deposits may go toward processing fees or past cost recovery. That means less posts to the inmate's account. Deposits post the next business day (excluding holidays), and weekly commissary orders can't exceed $100.
