Mailing Letters and Photos to Someone in Bexar County Jail
Address your letter with the inmate's full name and SID number - both are required. Include their unit location if you know it. Send mail to: Bexar County Adult Detention Center, 200 N. Comal Street, San Antonio, TX 78207.
Don’t include money in the envelope: Bexar County Jail does not allow cash, money orders, cashier’s checks, or similar items to be sent through the mail.
Your letter won't stay in paper form. Staff open and inspect all incoming mail, then scan it into the jail's kiosk system. The inmate reads your letter electronically.
Scanned mail stays available on the kiosk for up to six months. The paper original? It's held for just two business days after scanning, then destroyed.
Heads up: The physical letter is destroyed after the two-business-day hold period. What you send becomes a digital copy only.

Cost snapshot: Email messages are $0.25 each, and photos are $0.50 each (purchased through commissary credits).
Need tracking or proof of delivery? Certified mail is available through the facility mailroom. Just know the inmate pays for the certified mail postage.
