The Satellite Office won't process warrants for violent offenses, sexual offenses, crimes against children, out-of-county warrants, or out-of-state warrants. If any of those apply, head to the Justice Intake and Assessment Annex at 200 N. Comal instead.

Magistration at the Booking & Release Satellite Office is only available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

A second magistration window runs Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Time your arrival around these slots - miss them, and you could be waiting until the next one.

What to Bring

  • Bond paperwork (from your bondsman or attorney, if you’re working with one)
  • A valid photo ID
  • Two references

Posting a surety bond (through a bond company or attorney)? Bring a $15 money order processing fee for each bond. Cash bonds don't require this fee. And if the defendant has three or more cases, only two $15 money orders are needed.

Note: There’s no restroom available once you are in custody at the Satellite Office. Use the restroom before you enter the office.

Expect the process to take about three hours. Even if you arrive prepared, clear your schedule so you're not watching the clock.

Defendants will be leg-ironed and handcuffed while in custody at the Satellite Office - that's standard policy. Knowing this ahead of time can help you mentally prepare for the experience.

  • Only the defendant is allowed to remain in the processing area
  • No children are allowed in the office
  • No photos or recordings of any type are permitted in the processing area

If your warrant involves a violent offense, sexual offense, crime against a child, or is from out-of-county or out-of-state, the Satellite Office can't help. Go to the Justice Intake and Assessment Annex at 200 N. Comal instead.
