Moore Unit Visiting Hours and Frequency: Weekends, Two-Hour Visits, and Extended-Time Requests

Planning a visit to the Moore Unit? Here's what matters: visits happen on weekends, last two hours, and the Monday-to-Sunday visiting cycle determines how often your loved one can have visitors. Traveling a long distance? You might qualify for extra time.

Visiting hours at the Moore Unit are Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The facility uses a "visiting cycle" that runs Monday through Sunday, so your loved one's weekly visit allowance resets on Monday, not Saturday.

Note: Before you make the drive, confirm the inmate is assigned to the Moore Unit and has visitation privileges.

Each contact visit lasts two hours. The clock starts when both the inmate and visitor(s) are seated together, so arriving late or delays in processing will cut into your time.

Eligible inmates can receive one visit per visiting cycle. Since the Moore Unit counts cycles from Monday through Sunday, that typically means one visit per week within that window.

  • G1: one contact visit per week
  • J1: one contact visit per week
  • J2: one contact visit per week

Note: Remote video visits are separate from contact or general visits. They may be available once per month for up to 60 minutes.

Traveling more than 250 miles one way? The warden (or designee) can approve an extended visit. These longer visits are discretionary and depend on available time and space, but they can last up to four hours when approved.

Tip: Call the Moore Unit ahead of time if you want to request an extended visit, and to confirm what’s available before you travel.

  1. Confirm assignment and privileges: Verify the inmate is currently assigned to the Moore Unit and has visitation privileges.
  2. Check in with the unit before you drive: Call the Moore Unit for final confirmation of visitation before traveling.
  3. Reconfirm close to visit time: If you’re coming from out of town, call again before you leave (or early the day of) so you don’t lose a trip to a last-minute issue.

Reminder: If you’re aiming for an extended visit because you’re traveling more than 250 miles one way, get approval first. A quick call to the unit is the best way to confirm both eligibility and availability.
