What Photo ID Does Bob Wiley Accept for Visits? (And What They Don't)
Show up without the right ID, and you'll be turned away at check-in. Here's exactly what Bob Wiley Detention Facility accepts—and what they'll reject—for on-site visits.
You'll need a current, valid photo ID to visit Bob Wiley Detention Facility. Staff check your ID when you request approval, and if it's not current and valid, your visit gets denied. No exceptions.
- ✓ U.S. driver’s license
- ✓ U.S. identification card
- ✓ U.S. active military ID
- ✓ U.S. resident card
- ✓ U.S. passport
- ✓ U.S. government-issued ID card
- ✓ These IDs must include a photograph (or fingerprints) and have issue and expiration dates (as applicable).
Rejected IDs
- ✓ Mexico Voter card
- ✓ Any expired ID
- ✓ Photocopies of an ID or birth certificate
- ✓ School ID
- ✓ Non-U.S. ID
- ✓ Indian Reservation ID card
- ✓ Matricula Consular ID
Note: The most common reasons people get turned away are bringing an expired document or bringing a photocopy instead of the original. Non‑U.S. IDs (even if they have a photo) are also not accepted here.
Visiting from out of state? Make sure your ID is one of the accepted U.S. government-issued options listed above - and that it's current. Bob Wiley does not accept non‑U.S. IDs for visitation. Several foreign documents are explicitly rejected, including Mexico Voter cards and Matricula Consular IDs. Don't assume "any photo ID" will work. Bring one of the approved U.S. forms.
Visitors under 18 must bring their birth certificate and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Everyone in your group - kids included - needs to meet the facility's ID requirements at check-in.
Tip: If you’re bringing a child or infant, double-check the minor visitor document rules before you go so you don’t lose your visit time at check-in.
