At Bolduc, a minor (anyone under 18) can’t visit on their own. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child to the visit.

A minor can visit with a different adult, but it takes extra steps. The accompanying adult needs written permission from the child's parent or legal guardian, plus prior approval from the Chief Administrative Officer (or a designee).

  • Certified birth certificate for the minor

The adult bringing the child needs ID too. Every visit, adult visitors must show government-issued photo identification - a driver's license works.

There's one exception to the

Some cases have victim-contact restrictions that can block a visit even with the right ID and escort. If the resident is in DOC custody for domestic violence, a sex offense, child abuse, or child neglect, they cannot receive visits from the victim of that offense - unless the Commissioner (or designee) grants a waiver.
