How to Register Your Phone Number to Receive Calls from Boyd Unit
Want to receive phone calls from someone at the Boyd Unit? Your phone number needs to be registered first. The process is straightforward, but a few verification details can mean the difference between getting calls and being blocked.
Before you can receive calls from a TDCJ inmate at the Boyd Unit, you need to register your phone number at texasprisonphone.com. Calls won't go through until registration is complete, so take care of this early - ideally before you're expecting that first call.
Registration is tied to identity and ownership, so the name you use matters. The name on your driver license or state ID must match the name on your phone bill or telephone listing. Even small differences - a nickname, missing middle name, or hyphenation - can cause problems. Use your legal name exactly as it appears on both your ID and your phone account.
Allowed-numbers

Once your number is registered, calls are generally available from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. These hours can change if conditions require it. If calls suddenly stop coming through at a time that used to work, a schedule change may be why.
Calls are limited to 30 minutes. You'll hear a warning one minute before the system disconnects. If you're in the middle of something important, use that heads-up to wrap things up and plan for the next call.
Important: All inmate calls - except calls to the attorney of record - are subject to monitoring and recording.
