Branchville Visiting Checklist: ID, Dress Code, and Items to Leave at Home

Anyone 16 or older needs photo ID for every visit - no exceptions. Accepted forms include a valid driver's license or state photo ID card from your state of residence, an active-duty military photo ID, or a valid passport.

Dress Code

  • Wear undergarments.
  • Wear a shirt/blouse with sleeves.
  • Wear shoes (infants who are carried are exempt).
  • If you wear a dress, skirt, or shorts, make sure it’s no shorter than 2 inches above the knee and has no deep slits.

Leave the tight-fitting pants at home. Stirrup pants, lycra, and leggings aren't allowed for visitors. Same goes for jewelry - only a wedding band or wedding set is permitted in the visitation area.

Prohibited Items

  • Firearms, weapons, knives, or ammunition
  • Narcotics, controlled substances, alcoholic beverages, marijuana, or tobacco/tobacco-related items
  • Electronic devices and recording equipment (including cameras, cell phones, pagers, and other audio/video equipment)

Note: Medications generally aren’t allowed in the visiting area - only certain life-saving or life-sustaining medications are treated as exceptions.

Bringing an infant? Two exceptions to know: shoes are required in the visiting area, but infants being carried are exempt. Baby items are limited - you can bring one clear plastic baby bottle and/or pacifier, plus one diaper.
