Visitation
Brazoria County Jail offers in-person visiting every day from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. To get in, register at Male Visitation, complete the visitation form, and show a valid government-issued photo ID. Plan your timing carefully—you must register at least 15 minutes before the visitation period ends. Space in the visitation room is limited to either two adults and one child, or one adult and two children. Anyone under 18 must be with a parent or legal guardian, and children need supervision at all times. If you've been incarcerated within the last six weeks, you won't be permitted to visit. The county also encourages using NCIC.com Inmate Messaging to send messages, documents, and photos instead of postal mail. Visitation privileges can be restricted for safety concerns or rule violations.

Staying in touch with someone at Brazoria County Sheriff's Office Detention Center involves two vendors: NCIC Inmate Communications for phone calls (in place since December 22, 2022) and Securus Video Connect for scheduled video visits. Video visits work onsite or remotely through the Securus app, computer, or tablet. Set up your account and add funds through the NCIC portal referenced by the sheriff's office—follow the vendor's instructions for payment and scheduling. Keep in mind that the sheriff's office and the phone/video vendor can monitor and record outgoing inmate calls and video visits that take place inside the facility. For attorney communications, the Sheriff's Office says it does not intentionally monitor privileged calls. Attorneys must register with NCIC and upload ID and a bar card for privileged, non-recorded access.
Mail & Letters
Brazoria County Jail switched to a new inmate mail system on January 9, 2023. Nearly all incoming mail (except legal and medical mail) must now go to the jail's designated processing address for screening. Important warning: personal mail sent for processing to PO Box 591, Longview, TX 75606 will not be returned or released—it gets destroyed once processed. For faster delivery of messages, photos, and documents, the sheriff's office recommends NCIC.com Inmate Messaging. Fees are $0.25 per text message and $0.35 for picture/document messages. Physical mail has strict limits: no packages, paper no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches, and each envelope capped at five pages and one photograph.
