Before Your First Visit to Brazos County Jail: What ID You Need and Who Can Visit

You can't just show up at Brazos County Jail and expect to get in. All visits - whether onsite or remote - require a reservation through the servicer's website. Book your time slot before heading out (or before logging on from home).

Onsite video visits are available daily from 1:00–4:00 p.m. and 5:00–7:00 p.m. Prefer visiting from home? Remote video visits cost $0.20 per minute and come in 15- or 30-minute blocks, so you can pick a length that fits your budget.

Each visit allows a maximum of two visitors per inmate: one adult and one child. This is a per-visit limit, not a lifetime cap. There's no restriction on how many total visits an inmate can receive - just follow the rules each time.

ID-requirements

  • Bring a current, valid government-issued driver’s license or ID card.
  • Every authorized visitor needs their own ID at check-in.
  • This includes minor children - kids must also present a current, valid government-issued driver’s license or ID card.

Before scheduling, make sure your name on the inmate's Authorized Visitor List matches your ID exactly. Brazos County Jail requires names to appear as they do on your driver's license or government ID, and the street address must be correct too. A nickname, missing hyphen, or outdated address can cause problems at the door. Double-check the details ahead of time.

Note: Brazos County Jail enforces a visitation dress code. Review the dress code before you go, and give yourself extra time for check-in so you’re not rushed if staff need to verify anything.
