How to Set Up Your First Video Visit at Brevard County Jail

Brevard County Jail contracts with Smart Communications to handle all video visits. Kiosks are installed throughout the housing units, and this is how all visits happen - there's no standard face-to-face visitation unless you're an attorney or have special approval from Jail Command.

First, create an account on the Smart Communications website. This account handles everything - scheduling visits, receiving calls, sending messages, and sharing photos. Take a minute to double-check your login info before moving on.

Need help setting things up? Smart Communications Customer Care is available 7 days a week from 7:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight (EST) at 727-349-1561.

Video visits can be scheduled up to 7 days in advance, but no less than 24 hours ahead. If you're hoping to visit tomorrow, you're probably too late. Check the calendar early and grab a slot as soon as you know your preferred day.

  • 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • 1:00 PM–5:00 PM
  • 8:00 PM–10:30 PM

Visits come in two lengths: 15 minutes or 30 minutes. The rate is $0.25 per minute - $3.75 for a 15-minute visit, $7.50 for 30 minutes. If you're nervous about your first call, starting with 15 minutes is a low-pressure way to get comfortable with the system.

Brevard also offers Video on Demand, where the inmate initiates the call. Here's the catch: you only have a 3-minute window to answer. Miss it, and the visit won't connect. Keep your device nearby during visitation hours if you're expecting a call.
