Bringing a Child to Visit: Bristol County's Minor and Infant Visitor Requirements

Bristol County allows one or two minors (age 17 or younger) to visit an inmate, as long as the minors are accompanied by a responsible adult who is already pre-approved to visit that inmate. If you’re the adult bringing the child, make sure your own visitor status is approved first - minors can’t visit on their own or with an unapproved adult.

Before a minor can visit, you'll need to complete a Minor Request to Visit form - one form per child. Get it notarized, then submit it to the Superintendent for approval before your visit. Forms are available on the BCSO website, or an inmate can mail one out to you if needed.

What to Bring Each Time

  • The approved, notarized Minor Request to Visit form for that specific minor
  • The minor’s birth certificate (must be presented at each visit)

Bringing an infant? Keep baby items minimal. You're allowed a lightweight receiving blanket, a pacifier, and a plastic feeding bottle. Diaper bags aren't permitted.
