Every adult visitor needs a non-expired, state-issued photo ID. Staff check at check-in, and they will turn you away without one.

Arrive early enough to be signed in and waiting in the Brown County Sheriff's Office lobby before visiting hours begin. Show up late? You'll be turned away - no exceptions.

Visitation days: Brown County Jail visitation days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Each inmate gets one visit per week. If multiple people want to see the same person, coordinate ahead of time so you don't accidentally use up that week's slot.

Up to four visitors can see an inmate at once. If your group is larger, decide who goes in this week and who waits for the next.

Male inmates have visitation on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Be signed in and in the lobby before those windows open.

Female inmates have visitation on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Double-check both the day and time - the schedule differs from the men's.

Protective custody visitation is Thursday only, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Late sign-in means no visit.

Bringing a child? Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old.

Once you leave the visitation area, you can't come back in. Use the restroom and take care of anything you need before you go in - stepping out ends your visit.
