Butler County Prison Visitation Schedule — Days & Times by Housing Pod (A–G)

Your visit day and time depend entirely on which housing pod your loved one is assigned to. Before you plan anything, confirm your name is on their approved visitation list - each inmate can have up to five adult visitors on that list, and if you're not on it, you won't get in. One more thing: inmates can only update their visitor list every 30 days. So if someone needs to be added or swapped out, it won't happen right away.

A-Pod visits are held on Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. On Saturdays, there are two sessions: 1:00 pm to 3:45 pm, and 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Match your loved one's housing pod to find their specific days and times.

Note: If your loved one is on handcuff restriction or in protective custody, visitation is shortened to 5:15–5:45 pm on their housing pod’s regular visitation days.

The inmate schedules the visit - not you. They'll contact you to set a time, then notify the Pod Correction Officer to confirm the slot is available.

  • Bring a photo ID - it’s required to enter Butler County Prison (no exceptions).
  • Secure all personal items in the lock boxes when you enter.
  • Be prepared to pass the metal detector.
  • Check in with the lobby officer, show your photo ID to verify who you are, and tell the officer which inmate you’re there to see.
  • Arrive on time: if you’re more than five (5) minutes late, you’ll be denied the visit.
  • Don’t bring items for the inmate - no property, photos, clothing, or money will be accepted at visitation.
  • If you’re bringing a minor (under 18), they must be with a parent or legal guardian unless prior approval was given by the Warden or Deputy Warden.
  • Minors don’t have to be on the inmate’s visitation list, but they still count toward the three-person limit.

If your name isn't on the approved visitation list when you arrive, you won't get in. Confirm that detail before making the drive. Also keep the headcount in mind: only three visitors are allowed per inmate at a time, and children count toward that limit even though they don't need to be on the list.
