Visitation at Butte County Jail

How to visit, scheduling, dress code, and visitor requirements

Overview

Butte County Jail allows two in-person visits per inmate each week, on Saturdays and Sundays. Each visit lasts up to 45 minutes. Start times vary by housing unit—male and female units have different schedules, and some areas list separate overflow or dorm times. Check the unit-specific schedule before you go. Masks are no longer required following a CDPH revision effective April 3, 2023. If you're denied as a visitor, submit the jail's Application to visit (after denial) to Operations Lt. J. Agurkis. Verbal requests won't be accepted. Juvenile Hall has separate rules: bring a government-issued photo ID, pass security screening, leave prohibited items and outside food at home, and don't bring children into the lobby.
