How to Send Letters and Photos to Someone at Cache County Jail (Address, size, prohibited items)

Send letters and photos to Cache County Jail at 1225 W. 200 N., Suite 100, Logan, UT 84321. Include the inmate's full name on the envelope. Don't forget your full name and return address in the top-left corner - mail without a proper return address gets sent back.

Sample envelope (layout): To: Cache County Jail [Inmate’s Full Name] 1225 W. 200 N., Suite 100 Logan, UT 84321 From (top-left): [Your Full Name] [Your Complete Return Address]

Keep it simple and flat. Unless specifically approved, incoming mail can't be larger than 8.5" x 11" and must be on regular paper - no card stock allowed.

Got something that doesn't fit those rules? Use an e-message instead. The jail offers this option for anything that can't go through as a standard letter.

Prohibited Items

  • Glitter
  • Perfume
  • Lipstick
  • Stickers
  • Tattoo patterns
  • Textiles (fabric)
  • Adhesives
  • Tape
  • White-out
  • Metallic/glitter pens
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Paint
  • Plastic
  • Rubber
  • Staples
  • Metal (any kind)
  • Obscene material
  • Gang-related material

Heads up: If your envelope includes prohibited items, it can be rejected and returned. Before you seal it, double-check for “small stuff” like stickers, tape, staples, or anything scented.

You can mail photographs, but stick to five per envelope. Want to send more? Split them across separate mailings so your whole envelope doesn't get held up.

Photos must be 5" x 7" or smaller. Write the inmate's name and number on the back of each one with a regular pen - skip anything metallic or glittery.

Cache County Jail scans all incoming mail and photos so inmates can view digital copies. Legal and privileged mail is handled separately.

Keep originals at home: After 7 days, physical incoming mail and photos are disposed of (legal and privileged mail is the exception). Don’t send anything you need to be preserved.
