Call at least 24 hours ahead to schedule your visit. The control officer handles scheduling at (405) 247-6666.

Attorney visits don't happen during shift change or meal times, so plan accordingly. Visits also aren't conducted between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The only exception? Exigent circumstances approved by the Detention Center Administrator.

Bring photo identification and your Oklahoma Bar Association membership card. Staff will check both before allowing you to meet with your client.

Need someone to visit on your behalf? The facility allows paralegals, investigators, law students, out-of-state attorneys, and expert witnesses. Send them with a letter on your firm letterhead naming the representative and identifying the inmate/client and case relationship.

Attorney visits are typically barrier-free contact visits. Conversations won't be audio recorded, and staff shouldn't be positioned to overhear. That said, visits may be visually observed through closed-circuit cameras for security purposes. Direct monitoring of attorney-client visits doesn't happen unless the Detention Center Administrator determines otherwise.
