Sending Money to Someone at Caldwell Correctional Center: Methods, Limits, and Who Can Deposit

North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) partners with ViaPath and its subsidiaries for offender money deposits. You can send funds online, through the mobile app, by phone, or at walk-in locations.

Deposits made through ViaPath channels (web, mobile, phone, or walk-in) usually hit the offender's account the next business day. Keep in mind that weekends and holidays push that timeline back - plan ahead if you're trying to fund commissary by a certain date.

ConnectNetwork is ViaPath's portal for deposits and account management. It's also where you can buy phone time. Phone-based deposits run through the same ViaPath system that handles trust account funding.

Before sending anything, confirm you're eligible. NCDAC only allows trust account deposits from people on the offender's approved visitor list. If you're not on that list, your deposit can be rejected.

Heads up: Deposits from non-approved visitors can be rejected by the vendor, even if you have the right name and ID number.

Mailing a money order? Make it payable to TouchPay and send it with a deposit slip to: TouchPay Holdings, LLC, PO Box 174, Houston, TX 77001-0174. Don't send money orders directly to Caldwell Correctional Center - the prison won't process them.

  • Maximum amount per money order: $300.00
  • Money orders must be issued in U.S. dollars

Fees vary by deposit method. NCDAC publishes a "Money Transfer Fees" schedule (effective August 1, 2023) that breaks down costs based on how you send funds and how much you're depositing.

Having trouble? If your deposit won't go through, you're missing a confirmation, or you think a payment was rejected, call ViaPath's toll-free line at 877-650-4249.

  1. Confirm you’re an approved visitor - deposits are restricted to approved visitors for that offender, and non-approved deposits can be rejected.
  2. Use the correct payee and mailing destination for money orders - make the money order payable to TouchPay and mail it with the deposit slip to TouchPay Holdings, LLC (PO Box 174, Houston, TX 77001-0174), not to the facility.
  3. Stay within money order rules - keep each money order at $300 or less and make sure it’s issued in U.S. dollars.

Common reasons deposits get rejected: sending a money order to the prison instead of TouchPay, or trying to deposit when you’re not listed as an approved visitor.
